Emergency plumbing, handled properly the first time

A burst supply line, a toilet running onto the floor, a water heater that fails at 11pm: we take the call, ask what’s happening, and get someone moving, to the same standard any hour of the day.

What actually counts as a plumbing emergency?

Anything that’s actively damaging your home or that leaves you without water, working drains, or safe gas service counts as an emergency: a burst pipe, a supply line that’s split, a toilet or washing machine hose flooding a room, a sewage backup coming up through a drain, or a complete loss of hot water in a house with people who need it. If water is moving somewhere it shouldn’t be, that’s an emergency call, not a wait-and-see.

A slow drain that’s been sluggish for two weeks, or a dripping faucet that’s been dripping since last spring, isn’t an emergency in the same sense. It’s worth fixing, but a daytime appointment is the right pace for it, not a middle-of-the-night dispatch. If you’re not sure which category your problem falls into, call and describe it; we’ll tell you honestly whether it needs someone tonight or whether tomorrow is fine.

What we respond to

The calls that come in at 2am

  • Burst or split supply line

Copper, PEX, or CPVC that’s split from age, a hard freeze snap, or a nail through a wall. Shut the main valve, then call.

  • Water heater failure

A tank that’s leaking from the bottom, a unit that won’t heat at all, or one that’s making a popping or rumbling sound it didn’t used to make.

  • Sewage backup

Water or waste coming back up through a floor drain, tub, or the lowest toilet in the house, usually a main line blockage, and it needs same-day attention.

  • Toilet that won’t stop running or overflowing

A stuck flapper or fill valve wastes water quietly; an overflow onto the floor doesn’t wait.

  • No water pressure, or no water at all

Could be a failed pressure regulator, a shut valve somewhere in the line, or a break between the meter and the house.

  • Gas line smell or suspected leak

Leave the house, don’t flip switches, call from outside. This is the one call where safety comes before anything else.

Tile-roofed homes along a landscaped lake in a Weston, Florida planned community

Weston, specifically

What’s different about plumbing in Weston

Three things shape most of the service calls we get in this part of Broward County.

A planned community, built in one era

Most of Weston’s housing stock was developed from the mid-1990s onward, which means modern PVC and CPVC supply and drain lines are the norm here, not the aging galvanized or cast-iron pipe common in older South Florida neighborhoods. Failures tend to be at fittings, fixtures, and water heaters rather than the pipe material itself.

High water table, lakes on nearly every block

Weston sits close to the Everglades and was built around an extensive network of lakes and drainage canals. A high water table means a slow leak under a slab shows up faster than it would elsewhere, and outdoor drainage lines can silt or back up after heavy South Florida rain.

HOA communities with their own access rules

A large share of Weston is gated or HOA-governed townhomes and single-family sections. That usually means coordinating a gate code or visitor pass before a technician can reach the door, worth mentioning when you call so dispatch can plan around it.

Water stains on a corroding pipe fitting in a utility area. The plumbers repaired the fitting and tested the connections to the neighbours. We were happy that the problem was repaired cleanly.

After a big storm, our basement floor drain stopped working right. The plumber got rid of the blockage and checked the drainage lines around it. Water no longer pools on the floor but quickly flows through the drain.

Over the weekend, our main drain clogged, therefore we were in a hurry for assistance. Without damaging the surrounding environment, the plumber came with the necessary tools and removed the obstruction. …

Questions we get

Before you call

Will someone actually answer the phone at night?

Yes. This is a 24/7 dispatch line, not an answering service that takes a message until morning. A real person picks up and asks what’s happening.

How do I shut off water to the whole house?

Most Weston homes have a main shut-off valve near where the supply line enters the house, and there’s usually a separate curb stop closer to the street. If you’re not sure where yours is, we can walk you through finding it over the phone while help is on the way.

What if the problem turns out to be bigger than expected?

We tell you before doing any additional work, with a clear explanation of what changed and why. Nothing gets added to the job silently.

Do you work in gated communities and HOA sections?

Regularly. Mention your gate code or visitor-pass process when you call so it’s handled before the technician arrives, not after.

Still have water where it shouldn’t be?

Call now. We’re already answering

Don’t wait for it to get worse. Describe what’s happening and we’ll tell you what to do next.
